most and least expensive real estate chicagoHomes.com recently released a report on the most and least expensive real estate in Chicago. In order to compile the rankings, Homes.com used listing price data from its own website. The Lincoln Park and North Side neighborhoods, which have previously been rated as some of the most expensive in the city, are still the most costly.

The average cost of a residence in Lincoln Park is $1,093,533 and the average cost of a North Side residence is $1,269,693.

What other neighborhoods topped the most expensive list?
Wrightwood homes cost an average of $899,000, Lower West Side homes cost an average of $813,771 and Bridgeport real estate averages $756,470.

Here’s a breakdown of the least expensive real estate in Chicago.

  • Bartletts: Average cost is $11,500
  • Riverdale: Average cost is $21,850
  • West Englewood: Average cost is $44,761
  • Englewood: Average cost is $46,761
  • Jeffery Manor: Average cost is $55,300

Homes.com also used data from their website to rank Chicago rental listings by price.

The most expensive rents are in Museum Park, near South Side and near North Side. An average rental in Museum Park costs $3,450.

Here’s a breakdown of the least expensive rentals in the Chicago area.

  • Gage Park: Average rental costs $725
  • Chicago Lawn: Average rental costs $875
  • Burnside: Average rental costs $875
  • Englewood: Average rental costs $900
  • Calumet Heights: Average rental costs $900
