September Tours of New Homes in Chicago Increase

October 14, 2012

tours of new homes in Chicago increaseUsually sales of new homes in Chicago decline slightly during the fall and winter months. However, last month saw an increase in home tourings and offers at the national level that were much higher than September 2011 levels, according to Redfin.

Redfin is an online real estate brokerage site that connects homes for sale with broker databases. Recent studies conducted by the company show that home tours increased 3.5 percent in the past month and home offers were up 4.5 percent. Home offers increased after Labor Day, and have been on the rise ever since.

The increase in home tours is certainly a good sign. As rising prices bring more inventory to the real estate market, sales can be expected to increase in 2013. Another reason for the increase in home tours is that consumer confidence rose in September and unemployment is at its lowest point in three years.

Do you plan on continuing this trend by attending any showings this month?
