The Latest Fall Paint Trends for New Chicago Homes

October 14, 2012

fall paint trends for new Chicago homesAutumn is a great time to make some changes to your new Chicago home. And, what better way to start than by freshening up your walls with some new color?

According to the color experts at the Pantone Color Institute, “Tangerine Tango” is the 2012 “Color of the Year.” This is a deep red-orange shade that has been trending in homes across the country. While orange walls may not be for everyone, a ‘tangerine tango’ colored throw pill or throw blanket would look great in a living room or family room this time of year.

Fall’s second hottest color is gray, believe it or not. The subdued hue is making a comeback because it is versatile and can work in any room in a house. Gray doesn’t have to mean bland, either. There are plenty of grays that have blue or green undertones and would work well in an understated bedroom or living room.

Another popular color this season is navy blue, which makes a statement in any part of your house.

Do you plan on repainting your walls this fall? If so, what do you think of the latest color trends?
