Prep Your Home with Thanksgiving Table Setting Trends

November 09, 2012

thanksgiving at your cook county homeSince Thanksgiving is just two weeks away, now is a great time to start thinking about your Thanksgiving decor! Here are some great decor and table setting ideas:

  • Keep it natural. This year, you can use everything from fruit to wheat bundles to liven up your table setting. The latest trend is bringing the outdoors inside and sticking to classic fall colors such as golds and deep reds.
  • Use a solid-colored tablecloth. This will allow you to focus more on other table settings that will impress your guests.
  • Avoid dated plates and dinnerware. Sure, it may easy to bring out that dated china you’ve always used, but why not purchase some mix and match modern dinnerware to add more color to your place setting? You can find a variety of colored and patterned plates at stores such as Pier 1 Imports or HomeGoods.
  • Make a stand-out centerpiece. Give your guests something to talk about with a memorable centerpiece. Hurricane vases make for great centerpieces because they can be used year-round. In order to make a hurricane vase more Thanksgiving appropriate,  decorate the vase with acorns, seasonal candles or anything else that has a fall theme.

What type of table settings will you be using this Thanksgiving?
