If you haven’t already, fall is a great time to get your free credit report from each of the three reporting agencies. All it takes is a quick visit to to get your reports sent to you. Once they arrive, set some time aside to carefully comb through each for inaccuracies, outstanding accounts and to make sure that all the information on the report is your own. Accidents happen from time to time, and it is important that you make sure any stray information is reported as quickly as possible. From there, the agencies will investigate and notify you of the outcome of your dispute. If there are errors on multiple reports, they can be corrected with one report; however, you may receive faster results if you send disputes to agencies individually.
