famous chicago real estate for saleHave you always dreamed of being Obama’s neighbor? You may finally have a chance.

The vacant lot next to Obama’s Kenwood home is currently for sale with a pricetag of $899,000.

Buyers of the lot will have a completely blank slate on which to build their dream home. The owner of the new home will also get perks such as Secret Service protection.

The lot was once owned by Antoin “Tony” Rezko, a political financier. County records show that the most recent owners purchased the vacant lot for $675,000 in 2008. The lot was put up for sale in 2010 at a price of $1.3 million, but the listing was soon pulled off the market. The current listing cost is 31 percent below the 2010 asking price.

The Kenwood neighborhood borders Lake Michigan on the south side of Chicago, and contains some of the largest homes in the city. Neighborhood landmarks include Regents Park, the Blackstone Public Library and the Hyde Park Art Center.

If you were lucky enough to purchase this piece of Chicago real estate, what sort of dream home would you build?
