December 04, 2012

dog-friendly chicago real estateAre you a Chicago dog-lover who loves exploring the city with your canine companion? Then you’ll be pleased to learn that Chicago is one of the top ten dog-friendly cities, according to Zoom Room.

Chicago came in at number seven on the list of 10 U.S. cities, and is known for offering dog-friendly Cook County real estate and recreational activities. A majority of Chicago condos are pet-friendly and offer access to plenty of parks and cafes that are perfect for pooches.

The Chicago Park District offers a listing of several dog-friendly locations, which can be accessed on the Chicago Dog Pads website. Popular doggie hangouts include Wiggly Field, the Chicago Park District’s first official dog park and the Montrose Dog Beach, which is the perfect summertime meeting place for both humans and dogs.

After a long day of playing fetch in the park, you might want to grab a bite to eat at one of Chicago’s many dog friendly bars and restaurants such as The Bad Dog Tavern, Scoozi or the Bridgeport Coffee Company.

Curious as to which city snagged the number one spot on the list? The honor goes to Portland, Ore. The city has such a strong doggie devotion that it even allows pets on local brewery tours!

What are your favorite pet-friendly Chicago hang-outs?
