John Robert Wiltgen Design Wins Gold Key Award for Baths

December 10, 2012

Chicago Real Estate Forum and Marketing RELEVANCE congratulate for winning a Gold in for .

John Robert Wiltgen Design stated: This commission was from clients who had been living in their home for almost a decade. In that period of time it had gone through several phases. First the house was renovated with assistance from Chicago architect Troy Mock.

Through his efforts our clients were able to modify the exterior of a traditional Cape Cod home to resemble a 2,600 year-old Schwedagon Pagoda. Three dormers were transformed into saddle roofs, which are typical elements of Thai and Burmese architecture.

Next, the clients hired a reputable North Shore designer to assist with the interiors. In the meantime, we were designing a home for their son who had purchased in the Trump Tower. When the parents saw the finished product of their son’s home, they hired us to give their home the style and drama it was missing.

Our challenge was to determine what pieces could be salvaged without compromising the finished product. Our clients had purchased an assortment of very fine furnishings through the previous designer but in order for us to create the desired results, many pieces needed to be refinished and/or reupholstered.

Every room was partially completed, so it was also challenging to find the necessary pieces that worked with the existing ones. The master bedroom closet and master bathroom were also totally renovated.
