Find Chicago New Apartments with the Latest Rental Apps

February 05, 2013

general smartphone appsWhile apartment hunting, it’s great when family and friends can give recommendations on where you  may want to live. But, what if there was an app that told you which apartments to stay away from?

That’s the goal behind the DoNotRent.com app, where renters can either rant or rave about apartments they’ve lived in and apartments they’ve toured. The app ranks apartments by trending positive and negative reviews, and users can also share their rental reviews via Facebook and Twitter. App users can write general reviews of each apartment complex they’ve toured or lived in as well as rank the following categories: parking, noise, grounds, safety, laundry and management.

A second app to recently launch for mobile phones is Resident Buddy by RentBits.com. Apartment residents can pay rent and even put in a maintenance request via their smartphones. Resident Buddy also has a listing feature that works similar to Craigslist; renters can post ads for furniture as well as request services such as babysitting and car sharing. This app also offers an interactive event calendar for posting and finding events in their local rental community.

So, whether you’ve just moved to a new Chicago apartment or are considering relocating, it’s time get out your smartphone and start downloading the latest apartment information.
