Don’t Miss the International Builders’ Show Recap

February 10, 2013

New Home Construction Photo ImageIf you weren’t able to attend this year’s International Builder’s Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, or if you did attend, but weren’t able to take in everything, then you will want to attend the IBS Recap. Sponsored by the Southwest Suburban Home Builder’s Association (SSHBA), this event is a chance to catch up on the latest builder news and trends and to network with peers.

Where: Parksite in Bolingbrook
1400 Remington Blvd.

When: February 19, 9 a.m. to noon

Two topics at the forefront of IBS were 55+ communities and green building. It is predicted that 2013 is going to be a huge year for energy-efficient homes, with new home features such as solar and geothermal energy picking up in popularity.

As far as 55+ communities are concerned, 2013 is about building new Chicago real estate with luxury in-home and neighborhood amenities such as elite clubhouses, state-of-the-art exercise facilities and outdoor gathering places.

Lastly, if you haven’t established a solid social media program, 2013 is the year to make it happen. According to Realtor.com, 95 percent of home buyers use the Internet as their first point of contact when finding new home information, so being social media savvy is essential.
