Chicago Neighborhoods a Great Place to Find Love

February 21, 2013

young couple legsValentine’s Day may have come and gone, but for anyone still looking for love in Chicago, luck is on your side. According to Trulia, Chicago contains two of the best neighborhoods for singles in the entire U.S., taking a backseat only to neighborhoods in Los Angeles and New York.

In order to compile the rankings, Trulia evaluated the ratio of men and women living alone in the most popular neighborhoods of major metros.

If you’re a single male in Chicago, you may want to venture into Old Town, which has the highest ratio of single women to men. On the flip side, ladies looking for love should head to Greektown and the West Loop, two neighborhoods with the highest ratio of single men to single women.

Both Old Town and the West Loop attract a variety of young professionals, and Old Town was even ranked as the most up and coming place to live in the U.S. Both neighborhoods offer plenty of bars, restaurants and great walkability.

Ladies who are single in the suburbs will be pleased to learn that Bolingbrook, located about 40 minutes from the Loop, was recently ranked as the fifth best small city for singles, according to Bloomberg News. Forty-two percent of males who live in Bolingbrook are single, which means there certainly isn’t a shortage of eligible bachelors in this suburban hot spot.

So, if you’re looking for date this weekend, take a chance and venture out to one of these singles-friendly locales.
