Hot New York Fashion Week Trends You Can Incorporate into Your Home

Fashion Week Runway PhotoAnother New York Fashion week has come and gone, but the latest runway trends are here to stay—until next season, that is. In the meantime, here’s how to incorporate the hot looks from the 2013 runway into your recently purchased real estate in Chicago.

  • Go bold with burnt orange. This shade is going to be huge in fall 2013, so start scoping out some autumnal colored home accessories for your favorite room.
  •  Plaid. Plenty of plaid and tartan patterns were spotted on this year’s runways. Plaid can be a great look for casual home items, such as comfy throw blankets.
  •  Metallic decor is still in. Winter 2012 was all about adding glitz and glam to your new home, and it looks as if that trend is here to stay for the next few months.
  • Leather. Decorating with leather isn’t for the faint of heart, but more and more interior designers are seeing this trend in modern homes. Homeowners are choosing all sorts of unique options, from faux leather wall decor to even faux leather chandeliers.

All of these trends have one trait in common—they’re bold and will make a statement in any home. So, why not take some risks this spring and add some burnt orange or a metallic accessory to one of your rooms?
