10,000 Reasons to Attend the State of Illinois Homebuyer Expo
The State of Illinois Homebuyer Expo is coming up on March 23, and there are more than 10,000 reasons to attend the expo if you are looking to buy a home in 2013. The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), the state’s housing finance agency, will be offering up to $10,000 in cash for down payments and closing costs to pair with their affordable mortgages to the first 300 expo attendees, making this year’s expo a don’t miss for home buyers!
This generous sum is being offered as part of the IHDA’s new SmartMovie Trio, a three-pronged mortgage initiative. Available only for a limited time, SmartMove Trio offers first-time homebuyers meeting certain requirements an affordable 30-year fixed rate mortgage, up to $6,000 cash for down payment and closing costs and a federal income tax credit worth up to $18,000 over the life of the loan. Those interested in learning about the SmartMove Trio for their next Chicago new home purchase can find out more from lenders and housing counselors who will be on hand at the homebuyer expo, which will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
This program and the expo aim to continue to push the state’s economic recovery, which has shown a 31 percent increase year-over-year in home sales in January of 2013. An increase in home sales supports the state’s overall recovery; did you know that the sale of 500 homes supports 250 full-time jobs and generates almost $20 million in economic activity?
