Easter Egg Hunts in the Chicago Area

Looking for something fun to do with the kids for Easter? The Chicago area is filled with Easter events – so grab your baskets, bring your camera and dress your little ones for the fun.

The annual Soldier Field Egg-stravaganza will be March 23 at 10 a.m. and is open to all children ages 10 years and younger. Children will be able to step onto the playing field to catch candy! Parents and fans will cheer from the sidelines, while watching all the action from the stadium’s two super-sized 23′ x 82′ video screens. The event also includes inflatables, face painters, a balloon artist, the Radio Disney Road Crew Show and much more from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The candy grab is free, but children can also have breakfast and photos with the Easter Bunny at 8:30 a.m. There is an admission for breakfast and reservations are required; call 312-235-7162 for more information.

Eatser Egg Hunts in ChicagoThe Lincoln Park Zoo also hosts an Egg-Stravaganza including a full breakfast with the Easter Bunny, spring-themed crafts and a fun egg hunt. The event will be held Saturday, March 30 rain or shine and registration is required. Admission is $45 for adults and $30 for children ages 3-12 (members get a $5 discount). There are dozens of free community and church-hosted egg hunts. For example, children near West Ridge Park in Highland Park can come to a free egg hunt (divided by age group) at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 30. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance and one lucky hunter will find the golden egg which includes a family pass to Hidden Creek AquaPark. Children living near Cantigny Park in Wheaton can come to the egg hunt on the McCormick Museum law at 10:30 a.m. on March 30. This event includes Easter crafts and a baby animal petting zoo. Frontier Sports Complex in Naperville is also hosting a 10 a.m. hunt on March 30 for kids ages 1 through 8.

Adventurous kids will love the area nighttime egg hunts. A Twilight Egg Hunt will be hosted in Worth at the Charles M. Christensen Terrace Centre on March 22 at 8 p.m. Bring your flashlights and find candy and prize-filled eggs. One golden egg contains a special prize. Pizza will be served after the hunt.  That same night, at Olympia Fields, kids can search for goody-filled eggs hidden in the forest at their Flashlight Egg Hunt starting at 7:30 p.m. Registration required, call (708) 481-2330.
