While builders often tell you that their new homes have open floor plans, increased energy efficiency, include a warranty and are able to be customized, they often times don’t tell you about some of the other not-so-obvious benefits.

  • A Clean Slate: Don’t want to worry about what bones may be hidden in the closet of your home? Buying a new home guarantees you are the first person to live there and enjoy all of its benefits. Plus, you won’t have to worry about remodeling the hideous 1970s wallpaper or replacing those lime green appliances.
  • Wiring: Homes built prior to 1960 were wired much differently than homes today, so they can’t easily accommodate newer technologies such as security systems, sophisticated lighting or structured wiring.
  • Entertaining: Those large get togethers of family and friends become a little more difficult in older homes, since many don’t have the same open, spacious floor plans we are used to seeing today.
  • Building a Community Together: When several homeowners move into a new community all at once, you form a different kind of bond than if you were to move into an existing neighborhood. You’ll enjoy getting to know the community, each other and the local area all at the same time.
