May 28, 2013

Chicago Blues FestivalNotoriously acclaimed as the “Blues Capital of the World,” it is no doubt that Chicago is home to the largest free blues festival in the world. The Chicago Blues Festival has become an integral part of the city’s past and present culture, filling the core of the city with a blend of jazz and soul that is uniquely Chicago.

The festival spans four days among five different stages. More than 500,000 people gather each year to share and enjoy not only the free music, but the passion within it. The festival will kick off on Thursday, June 6 in Millennium Park from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., and is then moved to Grant Park for Friday, June 7 through Sunday, June 9 from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. each day.. Guests may purchase parking packages in the Millennium Garage, or various forms of public transportation to arrive at the event. A few of this year’s performers include Bobby Rush, Eddie Floyd, Sir Mack Rick, James Cotton, Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater and many more!

This four-day affair is near and dear to Chicago’s heart, and all are encouraged to attend. So grab a lawn chair and your Ray-Bans for an unforgettable experience of the mind, body and soul. And for $0, you have nothing to lose!
