Think Beyond the Home When it Comes to Real Estate Upgrades

July 12, 2013

Outdoor Living BenefitsWhile summer sometimes has us focused on air conditioning and energy-efficiency upgrades for the home, there’s a whole world outside of the home itself just waiting to be experienced; and it’s an area that simply can’t be as well enjoyed the rest of the year. That’s right, summertime means it’s the perfect time to enjoy and upgrade your outdoors – and the Equifax Finance Blog has some keen direction on where you should focus your outdoor improvement efforts in the article “Increase Your Home’s Value With These Five Outdoor Upgrades.”

When it comes to upgrades, paying attention to only the interiors of your home can have you missing out on a lot of curb appeal if you are trying to sell, or missing out on opportunities to enjoy your home in general if you are set to stay awhile.  Either way, simpler projects like painting the exterior of your home or doing some gardening can be a great way to liven up your home’s outdoors for summer.

If you are looking to make additions rather than simply accelerate upkeep, the three best ways recommended by Equifax are with a firepit, an outdoor kitchen or patio upgrades. These can be done inexpensively with portable objects like a fire brazier or rolling grill. On the opposite end, you can really make each of these upgrades shine with luxury investments into a built-in outdoor fireplace or outdoor kitchen.
