New Michelin Stars Ratings Announced for Chicago Eateries

November 13, 2013

Guide for Chicago real estate dinersAn important category of search criteria for many buyers is the features within a home, but location and amenities available are also very important. One of the top amenities around any given location is the dining options within quick and easy reach, and residents of Chicago real estate have just had their restaurant options re-evaluated and updated by one of the highest quality food review groups, which were published in the new 2014 Michelin Guide. The guide, which was originally published for chauffeurs, ranks restaurants with three stars to mean exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey; two stars are for excellent cooking, worth a detour; and one star denotes a very good restaurant in its category.

Released today, the new guide reveals that the number of restaurants receiving those coveted Michelin stars in the Windy City has increased from 19 to 25, and no restaurants fell off of the list. Alinea is still the only Chicago restaurant to have the prestigious three-star rating. There are two new two-star ratings, as Sixteen gained a star and Grace debuted at two stars after less than a year of serving up delightful tasting menus arranged by Chef Curtis Duffy. Graham Elliot and L20 held onto their two star ratings again this year, though evaluations were made before Elliot announced that they were moving at year’s end. Finally, five restaurants joined the one star category this year: El Ideas, North Pond, Senza, Elizabeth and The Lobby.
