Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry Free for Kids in February

Free admissionIf you’re looking for an economically-friendly adventure for the family in February, you can’t beat a special offering from the Museum of Science and Industry for this month: free admission for kids! This free admission is limited to children age 3 to 11, and does not include special exhibits such as the temporary special showing of Disney memorabilia called “Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives.” The free tickets must be obtained from the on-site museum ticket counter, with up to four free child tickets for each adult ticket purchase.

While it does not include special exhibits, there are still plenty of reasons to escape the cold and head to the museum. From a human-sized hamster wheel to lightning striking indoors and seeing chemistry in action, there is an exhibit perfect for those eager to learn. There’s also the only German U-boat in the United States to explore, as well as historic advancements in transportation, machinery, science of mining, process of automation and other everyday mysteries that you and your children can explore to further your understanding of the magic of everyday lives. Unlike television shows that seek to show one aspect of life, the Museum has a wide variety of different processes and you can see, explore and sometimes touch to learn more.
