A Guide to the 24th Annual Chosen Few Picnic Weekend 2014

July 03, 2014

Chosen Few Picnic

House music originated from humble beginnings in Chicago and has since grown into a worldwide phenomenon, often blending with pop and dance music to appeal to mainstream audiences. This dance genre, which got its start in the early 1980s, is still hugely popular in Chicago and your best chance to celebrate it is July 3-6 during the Chosen Few Picnic Weekend.

This annual festival is highlighted by the signature 24th annual Chosen Few Old School Reunion Picnic on Saturday, July 5 in Jackson Park, 63rd and Hayes Drive. The picnic started as a small reunion of a few friends – a close group of South Side Chicago DJs and producers – that evolved into one of the largest single-day dance festivals in the country, bringing in more than 45,000 attendees every year.

Tickets start at just $20, while VIP packages for parking and tent spaces are also available -purchase them here. For more information about the Picnic, visit their website.
