Kellogg Estate Takes Substantial Chop, Now Listed at $5.95M

August 08, 2014

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. And that’s what the owners of this sprawling Mediterranean style estate are doing in relisting it for sale. Built in the early 1920s as the Kellogg Estate, the 18,000 square foot Winnetka home sits on approximately three acres and includes a swimming pool with pool house, a tennis court, a putting green and a four car garage. When the home first the market in April 2013, the mansion had a steep $9.9 million ask. Just weeks later, the ask shed $1 million and dropped to $8.9 million. After another price cut and a number of months with no bites, the home was removed from the market. It reappeared on the MLS in May at $6.5 million, but can now be had for $5.95 million, nearly half of its original asking price from just a little over a year ago.
