Under $500K Club: 2 Bed, 2 Bath Timber Loft in Donohue Building Asks $499K

September 22, 2014

Own a little piece of Printer’s Row history by scooping up this 1,650 square foot brick and timber loft in the landmark Donohue Building for $499,000. Built in 1883 by Julius Speyer, the old Donohue Building was at one point the largest printing facility in Printers Row and then in 1979 became the first factory in the city to be converted to loft condominiums. The sprawling open loft space boasts the usual industrial loft aesthetics, but this particular unit is centered around a brick fireplace. The floorplan clusters both bathrooms and a bedroom on one side of the unit, but those looking for a sizable work from home option might consider turning the far-flung bedroom into a home office. A couple of the listing photos reveal a framed gold and platinum record, but after some digging, we’re pretty certain that this pad isn’t occupied by a best-selling artist.
