Price Chopper: Massive Minimalist Manse Relists with Massive Price Chop

October 02, 2014

Wow, just look at this place. It’s clearly going for a minimalist look, but it’s just so darn big that it’s hard to really call it minimal. Situated on a three quarters of an acre lot in Hinsdale, this six bedroom, five bathroom home was built in 2008 and weighs in at 12,000 square feet. The home first listed last year for $9.5 million, but dropped to $8.3 million this past February. This week it returns to the market at $7.4 million – over $2 million less than its original ask. The broker babble states that this home is the “ultimate definition of minimalistic architecture”, and while it kind-of-sort-of-may-be something like that, it is pretty loaded up on cool amenities. Take for instance the golf simulation room and the putting green. This ain’t your grandfather’s minimalist home.
