October 09, 2014

Haunted HayrideTo match the chill the autumn air, residents of McHenry County can experience thrills that will send chills up their spines when going on a spook-tacular haunted adventure this October! Hosted by the world championship winning Wonder Lake Water Ski Show team, the annual Haunted Hayride will take place in Petersen Park near Gerstad Builders’ new homes at Liberty Trails.

Expected to draw in thousands of people over the next several weeks, the hayride will take its daring guests through the park that has been transformed into “Deadwood Forest,” where ghosts, ghouls, mysterious and scary creatures may be lurking in the shadows. The first haunted hayride kicks off this Saturday, Oct. 11 from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Haunted hayrides will continue Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17-18 and Oct. 24-25. Admission is $8 per person, with proceeds benefiting the Wonder Lake Water Ski Show team as well as several local charities. Parking at Petersen Park is FREE and refreshments will be available for purchase. Be sure to “like” the show team’s Facebook page for more information and updates about the upcoming fundraiser.
