From My Home To Yours: Acrylic

November 10, 2014

Over the past couple years, I’ve embraced a new style in my home by incorporating more contemporary elements. Even though meshing the new with the old is challenging at times, overall it’s been a fun process. Plus, I’m loving the results.

One easy way I’ve found to add a more modern feel is with acrylic furnishings. Because of its new-found popularity, there is a huge array of items in this style. From chairs and tables to accessories like lamps and tape dispensers, you can incorporate acrylics into any room.

I’ve used a console table in my entryway. Because most acrylic furnishings are clear, they don’t take up much visual space, but can still be super functional.

I also recently added a ghost chair to my guest room. Its traditional lines work well in my 1916 home, and the acrylic adds a contemporary air. The perfect combination!

To inspire you to add a bit of this style to your home, I’ve gathered a few of my favorite pieces. I especially love how some of the items are paired with gold and brass!
