A Weekend Affair: Planning Your Chicago Itinerary

aquarium showIt is time to get out your planners and start figuring out what you will be doing this weekend! To help, Chicago Real Estate Forum is here with another A Weekend Affair post to inform you of the many different events that will be going on in the Chicago area this upcoming weekend.

Who let the dogs out? This Saturday, Jan. 31, The 2015 International Kennel Club of Chicago (IKC) will have different events held at McCormick Place-Lakeside. You and your family can enjoy different demonstration events including agility, obedience, search and rescue, arson and more. Bring your own canine friend and enjoy watching the IKC Dog Show as your favorite breeds compete to win the title of Best Breed. Will your favorite breed win?

For adults who enjoy tasting and learning about different beer, then Winter Brew 2015 is where you want to be this weekend! On Saturday, Jan. 31 at Lincoln Square’s fourth annual Winter Brew, head indoors for a day and night full of local beer and food. This is your chance to explore some of Chicago’s local breweries. Held on the fifth and sixth floor skyline lounge of the Dank Haus, participating breweries include Begyle, Half Acre, 5 Rabbit Cerveceria and more. The admission of just $12 will also include a nine ounce beer glass that you will be able to use during tastings.

If you are a bride-to-be and currently planning your wedding, come to the 6th Annual Indie Wedding Show and Market on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Held at the beautiful Ravenswood Event Center, enjoy two full floors with more than 100 vendors to get you inspired for your big day. Here, you will find local photographers, caterers, venues and more! In addition, food tastings, musical performances and wandering models wearing spectacular bridal fashion awaits you at this grand event. Special surprises and more are all included, but hurry! You can purchase your tickets online for $15 for a single guest or $25 for two until Jan. 30 at noon or pay $20 per person at the door, cash only.

Spend the night under the sea at the Shedd Aquarium for a unique slumber party experience! Beginning on Friday, Jan. 30, you and your family can enjoy exploring the aquarium before sleeping next to the fish. All of the exhibits, including the Abbott Oceanarium, Wild Reef, Waters of the World and Amazon Rising, will be open for exploring. The event also includes an aquatic show, a 4-D movie, dinner, a snack and breakfast in the price of each ticket. All children age five and up can attend this fun event and one adult must be present to accompany every five children. Ticket prices begin at $75 per person ($65 for members) and $90 per person for VIP tickets ($75 for members).
