McHenry County Fair Theme Features Homemade and Homegrown

August 05, 2015

liberty-trails-madison-The McHenry County Fair kicks off Wednesday, Aug. 5 with a theme of “Homemade, Homegrown.” This event has been a summer tradition since the old days when farmland made up the area, and it has become a backbone of McHenry County.

There is something for everyone at the McHenry County Fair! Browse through the vendor booths filled with an assortment of homemade goods or relive your childhood memories on a carnival ride. Be sure to check out the loghoggers that create beautiful works of art by carving logs with their chainsaws into statues. Other attractions to enjoy include food, the demolition derby, motocross, the McHenry County pageant, rodeo and tractor pulls in the Grandstand, and a variety of daily entertainment acts such as magicians and musical performances featuring the 50’s a cappella group Blend, Suburban Cowboys and Clutch Cargo.

Admission on Wednesday and Thursday is $6 for adults and $3 for seniors and children ages 8 through 13. Friday through Sunday, admission is $8 for adults and $4 for seniors and children. If you have a large family, you can even purchase a family pack for four people for $25. Gates open at 8 a.m. daily.
