According to the 2016 U.S. News and World Report, Illinois’ top ten public high schools are all nationally ranked. With the school systems being an important factor, these leading schools give you multiple choices for top notch academics.

The rankings are based on how a school serves all their students using there performance on the reading and math parts of each states proficiency tests and the graduation rates. A final step is implemented to assess how well the schools prepare the students for college level work.  Illinois high school students are evaluated in math and English language arts through the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers or PARCC assessments.

The top ten Illinois Schools are:

  1. Northside College Preparatory High School
  2. Payton College Preparatory High School
  3. Young Magnet High School
