How Well Do You Know Your Chicago Real Estate Broker?

February 01, 2011

It’s February. You know what that means: It’s time to get to know an independent Chicago real estate broker.

Some of the causes are silly (February is Spunky Old Broads Month and National Laugh-Friendly Month); some are sweet (It’s also Creative Romance Month, Chocolate Lover’s Month and Worldwide Renaissance of the Heart Month); and some are educational (National Black History Month, National Children’s Dental Health Month, Library Lovers Month, American Heart Month and American History Month, to name a few).

There are also causes somewhat related to real estate. Here are the highlights.

February is:

*National Get to Know an Independent Real Estate Broker Month (I have one for you to meet, if you like.)

*Electrical Safety Awareness Month (Very important to be safe in your home.)

*National Care About Your Indoor Air Month (We’ll be covering this more at a later February date.)

*Bake for Family Fun Month (A great thing to do with the kids while they are home during tomorrow’s snowstorm.)

*National Bird Feeding Month (Really? During winter?)

*National Craft Month (You can make some adorable crafts to decorate your home.)

*National Hot Breakfast Month (The most important meal of the day starts in your kitchen.)

*National Senior Independence Month (Many Chicago-area senior living facilities can help with that.)

February is also National Pet Dental Health Month. Got a toothbrush?

*National Time Management Month (A necessity to run a tight ship at home.)

*Return Shopping Carts to the Supermarket Month (I always do that. Do you?)

*Adopt A Rescued Rabbit Month (I’ll bet a few bunnies are going to need rescuing during tomorrow’s storm!)

*National Canned Food Month (These will come in handy if the Chicago area loses power during the snowstorm, as long as you have a hand-operated can opener!)

*Termite Awareness Month (We hope you never become aware of termites in your home.)

Finally, it’s also Plant the Seeds of Greatness Month. Now, that can mean planting seeds in your Chicago garden (I don’t think they’ll take in this weather) or planting the seeds of change in your life.

February is the shortest month of the year. Why not do something each day of the month to make a positive change in your home and in your life.

Happy February. Make it a great one.
