Members of the Southwest Suburban Home Builders Association (SSHBA) enjoyed cocktails, a three-course dinner and dancing at the SSHBA Inaugural Ball Saturday. This year’s event was held at the Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, and music was provided by local band Ear Candy.

Kieran Lagan was inaugurated as the new SSHBA president, and he will replace outgoing president John Rogers. Kieran stated that SSHBA membership is up and the organization is “fiscally strong,” which means that 2013 should be a great year for the Chicago real estate market! Kieran also entertained the crowd with tales of his South African upbringing.

The members of the 2013 board of directors were officially inducted at Saturday’s event, and many SSHBA participants were honored with prestigious awards. Presidential awards were given to builders who demonstrated exemplary dedication to the industry, and Ed Paliatka of American Colony Homes was honored with the prestigious home builder of the year award.

Congratulations to all of the winners and to Kieran on his new term as SSHBA president! A big thank you is also extended to Debbie Perrine for coordinating the big evening.

The SSHBA is a professional organization representing the interest and advancement of the home building industry with a strong local network of more than 200 builder and associate members.
