NAHB Optimistic About Membership in 2013

February 04, 2013

optimistic builderAccording to a report from the International Builder’s Show in Las Vegas, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recruited more new members in 2012 than any year since 2007. This is not only good news for the trade organization, but it also a positive sign for recovery in the homebuilding industry as a whole.

In order to ensure that homebuilders continue on their path to success, the NAHB is assisting its members in the following areas:

  • Financing
  • Flawed appraisals
  • OSHA fines
  • Dealing with federal regulations, such as new energy efficiency standards and codes

The NAHB is also seeking to address issues that affect buyers, such as tight credit lending standards that affect the ability of prospective homeowners to obtain mortgages.

To keep up with the latest technology, the NAHB will revamp its website this year. The new site, which will be mobile device friendly, will include a touch plus portal, single sign-on access to the membership portal and a collateral marketing material fulfillment center.

The current NAHB site offers educational podcasts and webinars, which are a great resource for staying up to date on the latest news and trends in the housing market industry.  The next webinar will be held on February 13, and is titled “Branding Yourself and Your Business Using Your NAHB Designation.”
