Then, be sure to save the date for the Southwest Suburban Home Builders Association‘s next general membership meeting on Thursday, September 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Gaelic Park (6119 147th St., Oak Forest, Ill.). Carolyn Shelby, an internationally renowned expert on search engine optimization (SEO) and Internet marketing and technology and the SEO Director at Tribune Media Group, will be presenting “Practical Applications to Digital-Get More Business!”

Topics to be covered in the September meeting, which is sponsored by the Sales and Marketing Council, will include:

  • Seeing beyond the buzz to fully understand your digital marketing needs
  • Creating or improving your online strategy
  • Overviews of must do’s in the current digital climate
  • Pros and cons of new media and social networking
  • How to target your audience and measure response

According to June 2013 statistics from the National Association of Realtors, 90 percent of homebuyers are using the Internet in their new home search. Additionally, according to the 2012 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, for 41 percent of buyers, the first step in the buying process is looking at online listings. With such significant statistics related to homebuyers and digital, it is more important than ever that home builders, real estate agents and other industry professionals have a presence that goes beyond their website to include mobile and social media. September’s meeting will be the perfect opportunity for members to learn what you can and should be doing to increase your digital footprint for Chicago new home buyers.
