Chicago Real Estate Forum to Announce Key Award Winners

HBAGC Key AwrdOn Friday, Nov. 15, the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago (HBAGC) hosted the 41st annual Key Awards at the European Crystal Banquet and Conference Center in Arlington Heights. The Key Awards, SAMMY Awards and Millions Awards recognize and celebrate the best in the home building industry, from new homes, townhomes and condos, to the best marketing brochure and website, to the Salesperson of the Year. This year, Chicago Real Estate Forum will be featuring stories on all of the Key, SAMMY and Millions winners throughout the month of December. Posts for all of this year’s winners can be found at

Started in 1972, the Key Awards recognize excellence in almost all aspects of the home building industry. A sampling of the categories presented includes land planning, architectural design, custom homes, remodeling, interior merchandising and more. A coveted Crystal Key is also awarded each year in recognition of innovation and creativity in the industry, as well as to the Community of the Year.

A second award category, called the SAMMY Awards, recognizes outstanding achievement in advertising and marketing within the industry. The final group of awards presented at the ceremony, the Millions Awards, recognizes the new home sales professionals that have sold more than $1 million in new homes. Awards are also given to the Sales Person of the Year, Sales Team of the Year, Sales Executive of the Year and Rookie of the Year.

The Key Awards ceremony has become the event that showcases top Chicago housing and remodeling professionals. This year’s 46 awards were presented by the Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council. Chicago’s chapter of the PWB is new, and the incoming chair of the national PWB council, our very own Carol Morgan, recognized the new members and provided the audience with introductory information about the purpose of the PWB.
